The William Kenneth Ambrose Memorial Heifer Scholarship is a program designed to foster an opportunity for growth and development of youth interested in agriculture, to encourage youth invovlement in the beef catle project, and to give industry youth an opportunity to express creative ideas. 

The purpose of this award is to encourage youth to explore an existing interest in the beef industry. Furthermore, the scholarship is intended to forge an introudction to and courage future involvement in the Simmental breed. The application should clearly demonstate enthusiasm, involvement, experience, and support. Finalists will be chosen based on communicated interest and involvement in the beef industry. Successful applicants will be deemed competent and prepared to accept responsibility and to use this project to propel his or her exisitng endeavors. 

Each 2016 donor will award one $1,500 voucher toward the purchase of a weaned, registered Simmental of SimAngus heifer calf at the Open House at the Farm production sale September 24, 2016 in Lyles, TN. Each donor will have available at least one animal valued at $1,500. Winners may choose a heifer for the value of the voucher or may use the vocuher with additional monies to purchase any eligible heifer from that donor. Deserving alternates may also receive credit vouchers redeemable at Martin Farms' Open House at the Farm sale September 24, 2016.

Delivery Options:

The buyer will be responsible for shipping arrangements of their purchased lot(s) including the price of shipping. Semen will only be released once it is paid for in full. The buyer will need to contact Chris Martin, organizer of the auction to discuss shipping. If you have access to a shipper tank, it would be much appreciated and expedite the process. Semen may also be picked up at the Martin Farms' Sale on September 24, 2016 at the farm in Lyles, TN.
